The Blue Balls Festival is an annual music festival held in Lucerne, Switzerland. It has featured many famous musicians within the last few years, including KT Tunstall, Jonny Lang, UB40, Van Morrison, Jeff Healey, Jimmy Cliff, Bobby McFerrin, Billy Idol, Tracy Chapman, Joey DeGraw, Jethro Tull, BB King, Gianna Nannini, Bonnie Raitt, Melanie Fiona[1], among many others.
What took place for the first time in the evening of September 19, 1992, with an audience of 300 on the old steamboat "Stadt Luzern", has become a leading international music festival with 100'000 visitors, over 9 days. The Blue Balls Festival is an outstanding and unique Swiss music and arts festival which every year transforms the idyllic lakeside of Lucerne into a hub of creativity. The Blue Balls Festival presents national and international stars, newcomers and young talents at 120 events in the areas of music, art, video, film and talk. The Festival takes place end of July at the three venues, KKL Lucerne, the pavilion and the Schweizerhof Hotel.
